If you entered the real estate market as a buyer this winter and were frustrated with the lack of homes for sale, there is some good news for you ahead! You have more options! So, it may be time to kick off your home search again this spring.

Daryl Fairweather, Chief Economist at Redfin explained, “Now is the best time to buy in the last two years. Mortgage rates are comparable to what they were two years ago, and prices remain high, however, there is significantly more inventory which increases your options.”
The number of homes for sale is growing as the weather is changing, and more are on the way. While spring is typical for the busy season of real estate, here is why it’s so important right now.
Homeowners are listing their houses at the highest pace we’ve seen in a while.
New Listings Are On the Rise
Over the past few months, the number of new listings is steadily increasing. The graph below from Keeping Current Matters demonstrates this data.

More people are putting their homes on the market each month - whether they are moving up, downsizing, or relocating. So, if you’re a buyer, this is great news for you!
Sellers who were on the fence in the past are starting to jump back in the market and are ready to list. That’s helping to boost the overall inventory and create better opportunities for both buyers and move up sellers alike.
It’s not just that the number of fresh options has increased month over month; there has also been an increase compared to last year.
If you’re a buyer that has been waiting for more properties to be available, the current market is exactly what you’ve been hoping for. More homes coming on the market means more options and a better shot at finding one that fits your needs.
