In early 2023, we had the opportunity to help a family transition their parents from Kirtland to North Carolina.
When we went to look at the home, we were met with a couple who cared for each other well. The husband was bed ridden and his wife tirelessly cared for him, giving him the best care she could. They lived in a humble 2 bedroom ranch home that was clean and cared for but the home also had a large addition which they started and spent many hours trying to get it finished. They realized it was all too much for them to accomplish and decided it was time to sell the home and move away from their dream.
They pictured growing old together and watching the birds from their newly finished master suite and living room. Unfortunately, their plans changed and their children wanted them to be closer to them and their grandkids down South. When we first met them, they had little expectations about who would want to buy their partially finished dream.
We were so fortunate to help them by listing their home and receiving multiple offers from people who wanted to fulfill the dream and make it their own. The seller ended up accepting an offer $15,000 over asking and so much more over what they expected to sell the home for. Shortly after moving, the husband passed away.
These opportunities are the reason we are selling homes. We love the opportunity to help people accomplish goals and make memories with their loved ones.
